By producing all of our products ourselves, we’re able to ensure consistency, quality and transparency. We control the ingredients used to make each product, who was involved in the process and that it meets our quality control standards. In addition, we are supporting and helping to build cannabis artisans and constantly working to improve products and develop new ones. Through our R & D initiatives we ensure that you’re always getting the freshest, highest quality, most innovative products on the market.
Why is it important to make your products in-house?
Why do you grow indoors?
While we are in support of full-sun and greenhouse cultivation, we exclusively cultivate our flowers indoors. This allows us to control every aspect of the plants' environment so we can tweak conditions to match the exact needs of each strain. By being able to stabilize temperature, humidity, lighting and CO2 levels, our plants are able to flourish.
How can you grow indoors without using pesticides and fungicides?
We use small, sealed rooms with a heavy emphasis on cleanliness to prevent pest and microbiological issues. By using laboratory-grade environmental controls and beneficial predators that are OMRI-certified, we are able to grow without the use of toxic pesticides and other sprays.
Are your flowers really 30%+ THC?
Yes - we have test results dating back 10 years that are 30%+. We’ve exceeded 30% THC on over a dozen different strains and 100+ batches!
Are your edibles organic?
Our edibles use all organic food ingredients but cannabis and cannabis products can not currently be labeled organic. Under current federal law, that terminology and certification is regulated by the federal government (US Department of Agriculture) which does not recognize cannabis as a legal product.
What makes your edibles healthy?
In addition to using organic food ingredients, our edibles are gluten free, vegan, paleo-friendly, Kosher and low-glycemic. We believe that simple ingredients you can pronounce and visualize make for an easy to digest, delicious and health-conscious snack!
What does full spectrum mean and are your extracts full spectrum?
Yes, our extracts are full spectrum. Full spectrum cannabis oil captures the same ratios of terpenes, cannabinoids and flavonoids as found naturally in the cannabis plant. This diversity results in unique effects and flavors the way nature intended.
Are your products all cannabis derived?
Yes, we are a cannabis-only company with the exception of food ingredients in our edibles :-)
What is the difference between extract consistencies?
The extraction process for all consistencies is the same; same temperature, solvents, and source material. The different consistencies are produced in the post-processing phase. After extraction, we can manipulate the external conditions to create different textures to highlight the unique profile of each strain. Diamonds and sauce allow smokers to customize the THCa to HTE (high terpene extract) ratio with each dab, but are slightly harder to manage. Badders and sugars are more easily partitioned into even dab sizes and are uniform throughout the jar.
Do you use CRC or other techniques to make the product lighter in color?
While we love bright colored dabs, we will never sacrifice flavor for color! We do not use CRC or other color changing techniques. While other companies will harvest 2-3 weeks early so that the underdeveloped trichomes are still clear, we believe in capturing the integrity of perfectly finished cannabis. As the plant reaches peak maturity, the broadest spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are present. Simultaneously, the trichomes change to milky white and then to amber at this time which will lead to yellow, orange or amber hues in the finished extract.
CRC (Color Remediation Column) is becoming an increasingly common way to manipulate low quality cannabis to appear premium by changing the color to white or bright yellow through a bleaching process. The process uses inline filters filled with chemical clays to remove plant compounds that contribute to the darker colors that can occur in extracts (particularly old, heat-damaged or sun-exposed trim), allowing manufacturers to sell low quality trim under the guise of a live resin project. As the extract is pushed through a series of color bleaching clays, it not only exposes the cannabis to harsh, untested, hazardous chemicals but also strips the extract of much of its flavor.
